Learning Opportunities for Students

The purpose of this message is to review the three primary options available to you in regards to online learning materials.

#1-CCSD has various resources available at Hard copies of these materials are also available at indicated distribution sites.

#2-The Tarkanian staff has been accumulating resources which are organized by subject/grade level folders that can be found at

#3-All Tarkanian teachers began using Google Classroom at the beginning of this school year as their primary online communication tool. Teachers have been encouraged to begin uploading materials. Please check Google Classroom regularly through your student account.

***If you need to reset your password for google classroom, please use :  ***

Other password and tech help can be found here.

At this time, these materials are optional and completion is not mandated for a grade. With that said, we do encourage you to take full advantage of these options so students can continue to progress educationally despite our current circumstance. Teacher emails can be found here on the website.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or any other staff member if we can assist.

Reece Oswalt (Dr. O), Principal

Computer Access - Recent Disabled Accounts

A mailer was sent out before Winter Break to parents with students who did not complete the mandatory yearly online registration. If the online registration was not completed by Monday, January 13th student's accounts were disabled by the district as computer access has to be granted by the parent each school year as well (this is an option within the Online Registration). Previously these were carried over from previous years, but no longer being done.

Please click the link below for the letter that was sent out with the updated information regarding computer access. Information on how to complete the online registration is in this letter.

CCSD Survey

Safety, academics and school climate are among the many topics that are the focus of the 2019 Clark County School District (CCSD) Parent Survey, available online from Oct. 28 – Dec. 20, 2019, at The 10-minute survey, available in English and Spanish, is confidential and part of the district’s efforts to engage the community on important issues facing students and their families.

Surveys have also been designed for students and staff to take at, in order for CCSD to obtain a full representation of all groups that make up the school district.

Questions asked in the survey align with district goals, focus areas and strategic imperatives that will be used to help make improvements to schools and increase parent engagement.

For parents and guardians who wish to participate, but do not have computer/internet access, all CCSD schools have computers available for public use to take this survey.

There are several questions on the survey that are school-specific; therefore parents and guardians must enter their child’s student ID number and birth date or the name of the school when completing the survey at Entering student information ensures that each school is receiving specific responses from parents to gauge its school climate. The identity of individual students, parents or staff who respond to the survey will not be disclosed to any school or district administrator. Survey results will only be shared in the aggregate.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is accessible on tablets and smartphones. Every parent is invited to take a survey for each child enrolled in a CCSD school.

Parents and guardians may request a paper copy of the survey from their child’s school. Any questions or concerns can be addressed by calling CCSD’s Assessment, Accountability, Research and School Improvement Division at 702-799-1041, option 4.

Construction on Pyle

Starting Monday, December 2, 2019, Pyle Avenue will be a one-way street during pick-up and dropoff times due to construction. All traffic on the south side of the school will need to enter Pyle Ave via Lindell Road and travel west along Pyle to campus. Drivers will then be required to take a right and be routed north on Jones Blvd. Please see the map below for a diagram of the traffic flow.

To assist with the impact this will have, campus will open to students at 7:15 AM for the duration of this project. Please consider dropping students off early or on the north side of campus since Jo Rae Avenue will remain a two-way street during this time.
