Construction on Pyle

Starting Monday, December 2, 2019, Pyle Avenue will be a one-way street during pick-up and dropoff times due to construction. All traffic on the south side of the school will need to enter Pyle Ave via Lindell Road and travel west along Pyle to campus. Drivers will then be required to take a right and be routed north on Jones Blvd. Please see the map below for a diagram of the traffic flow.

 

To assist with the impact this will have, campus will open to students at 7:15 AM for the duration of this project. Please consider dropping students off early or on the north side of campus since Jo Rae Avenue will remain a two-way street during this time.

Tickets are $5 each with your student ID! Tickets will be sold during all lunches ONLY!  There will be NO tickets sold at the door the day of the dance. So make sure to purchase them during your lunches.

*Late Bus will be provided, all other students must be picked up promptly at 4:30!

Cash for Classrooms Fundraiser!

This is Dr. O reminding you our Cash for Classrooms fundraiser started yesterday and runs through Friday, October 18th. Students will receive various prizes and each student that raises $50 or more will attend a Staff versus Students Basketball Game on Tuesday, October 22nd during 6th period. Ninety percent of all donations go directly to classrooms. This breaks down as 10% going to our vendor, 10% going to your child's Mentorship teacher, and 80% going to teachers by being divided equally between the various departments at Tarkanian. Tarkanian TOP RATED 5 Star School!

Tarkanian Middle School (TMS) has been deemed a Five Star School according to the Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF). In addition, for the first time in school history, TMS has the highest NSPF index score of any middle school in the Clark County School District (CCSD)!

 

As a frame of reference, here are the index scores for the top 10 middle schools in CCSD:

Google /AD & Infinite Campus Password Reset

Below is information on how to reset 3 different accounts the student may have: Google, AD (computer login), Infinite Campus.

*Infinite Campus*

Visit the infinite campus login website and click the "forgot password" link under the sign in area. It will send an email to your linked email account that is listed directly in infinite campus. This will either be your school google email, or if it was changed in infinite campus previously, to that address you had provided. Check both accounts.

 

*Google & AD (Computer Lab Login)*

Parents can call the CCSD HelpDesk from 7am - 5pm

At School:

Desktop Computers in Lab and Library

Any school desktop machine (not chromebooks) in a lab or library that is already logged in (possibly your lab partner or friend is next to you). There is an icon on the desktop called "Password Reset". Click the link and follow the instructions below.

At home and School chromebooks

To reset student's google email or computer login password (they are the same password) visit: Http://myaccount.ccsd.net

  • Click the first option "Reset Your Password or Retrieve Your Current CCSD Standard ID"

  • Then click the 2nd option "I have forgotten my password and need to reset it"

  • Input the student number and click the "Im not a robot" box. Then click NEXT.

  • Input student birthdate as shown MM-DD-YYYY. You must have the dash marks ( - ) and the 2 digits for a single digit month or year. IE: June 7th, 2009 will be 06-07-2009

  • New password must be entered twice. Follow the information below the password input for what is required for the new password.

Note:

  • Your computer login username (for labs and library) is your student number

  • Google and Chromebooks are your school's google email address. Any of your teachers may provide you with this.

Parent School Organizational Team Interest Form

Hello Sharks - This is Dr. O with some details about our School Organizational Team (SOT). Meetings for this team will be held the first Tuesday of every month starting at 3:30 PM. The term for our new team runs from October 2019 through September 2020, and the members are comprised of two licensed employees, one support staff employee, three parents, one student and myself (Dr. O). The members of this team are elected to serve by each of their respective groups. If you are interested in serving as a parent representative, please return the Parent/Guardian Interest Form (LINK BELOW) to our front office or submit it online at 0470-SOT@nv.ccsd.net, no later than Thursday, August 15th. A flyer was sent home with each student and can also be found in our main office or on our website below. Voting for our parent representatives will be held on the same day as Open House which is Tuesday, August 20th. Voting will take place in our front office and will  be open from 7:00 AM through 7:00 PM. Please reach out if you have questions about our School Organizational Team or about anything else happening at Tarkanian. We are off to an excellent start, and I am looking forward to a great school year. Thank you
